Altarnun Church Bell Ringers

A Christmas team of bell ringers

St Nonna's church, Altarnun held it's annual carol service, and to start the proceedings 14 bell ringers - to share in ringing the 8 bells - were heard all around the village.

To mark the occasion, I arranged a pre ring photo, and after setting up the shoot - I used a self timer on my Canon EOS camera & squeezed myself into the crowd - proud to be a ringer in this fine team. It proved an excellent opportunity to capture so many of the team together. Believe it or not - there were still a small handful of ringers missing - and so adding their number to the 14 assembled here - goes to show how popular ringing here in Altarnun is - and we keep the English tradition of campanology alive.

This seemed to set the scene for the 9 carols & lessons service. Also in attendance was St Genny's Silver Band to lead the singing.

All in all - a special occasion for everyone.
